The Still series was inspired by the fluidity of the clay Olav Slingerland works with. The pouring of the clay into the mould gives rise to the shape. Just as the mass of clay starts to flow over the edge, its movement is ‘frozen’. The name Still refers to ‘frozen’ images (stills) in video or film.
